Why you should hate Canadans if you don't already
(In case you didn't know, I call them Canadans because they don't live in Canadia. You aren't Americian are you?)

In Canada, if it is below freezing, you don't go to school. Let that sink in for a minute. That's 32 degrees (0 if you're a Centigrade using heathen). Think about Iowa and how on a good year that would mean no school from October to April. Add in that Canada is farther north and therefore colder than the midwest.

Now for part two. You do not have to make up any of the lost school days. They just go away. You take what classes you can get in and then you're done for the year.

My source for this is my father's girlfriend who is Canadan, still lives in Canada, and has two kids in school.
